BRIAN SMITH, Driver No. 13 Brian Smith has always been competitive. He also has a love for race cars. But, Smith didn’t realize he wanted to be a race car driver until he entered college at the University of South Carolina. He began studying Mechanical Engineering and competing in SCCA Solo II Autocross events. After graduating in 1990, Smith moved up to the SCCA Pro-Solo II Autocross Nationals. He continued to get seat-time and build his racing skills at track-day events that eventually led him to a position with Michelin/BFG, where he did high performance testing all over the U.S. and Europe. He accumulated six years of seat-time as a result of the relationship with Michelin/BFG and won races and championships in the American Road Race of Champions (AROC), One Lap of America, SCCA Solo II Nationals and SCCA regional races. Part of his time competing in One Lap of America was under contract with Dodge in the development of Dodge Viper for race competition. Smith gained almost ten years of experience in the Dodge Viper during his endeavors for Dodge Motorsports. In addition to his pro-racing duties, Smith began his own driver coaching and track day events company, Full-Lock Industries, which performs testing for manufacturers in addition to the coaching and track day events. He met current team owner Bob Woodhouse after Woodhouse enrolled in one of his driver coaching classes in 2003 and later signed him to drive in the Touring Car series in 2006. After one season in the Dodge Neon SRT-4, Smith moves to the GT series in the Dodge Viper Competition Coupe. The seat-time gained while with Dodge will lend a tremendous advantage as he enters his first season in the GT series in the No. 13 Kicker/Woodhouse Performance Dodge Viper Competition Coupe.
