BLAIR, Neb. (Jan. 16, 2007)- Woodhouse Performance announced today confirmation that three-year veteran of the SPEED World Challenge series Bob Woodhouse will not be returning to pilot a Dodge Viper Competition Coupe for the full season in 2007.
Woodhouse, 60, posted an impressively consistent 2006 season, finishing in the top-10 eight times and in the top-five four times, ahead of many competitors half his age. He posted the strong season while his daily life consisted of being engaged in the six franchise, 600 plus employee car dealerships of Blair and Omaha, Nebraska.
Woodhouse will not disappear from the series. No, you couldn’t pull him away from having some kind of dealing with a Dodge Viper Competition Coupe if his life depended on it. Woodhouse will step into a Team Owner’s role for the 2007 season, looking to build a leading team in the series and a marketing program that will attract sponsors and build momentum for what is a rapidly-growing American road racing series.
“Along with thousands of other crazed individuals, I love the driving experience that this sport offers, but I have also know lots of folks who get a sense of accomplishment from other aspects of race team involvement,” said Woodhouse. “I am about to find out if that works for me. So far my wife Louise approves.”
The Woodhouse Performance driver lineup for 2007 will be announced at a later date.
