BLAIR, Neb. (June 20, 2007) -  Woodhouse Performance continues to put talented drivers in the No. 13 Woodhouse Performance Dodge Viper, announcing today Canadian driver Nick Majors will be behind the wheel for Rounds Six and Eight of SPEED World Challenge Series GT competition at the Grand Prix of Toronto July 8 and Mosport International Raceway August 26.

Majors picked up the nickname ‘Darth Viper’ for successes in the black No. 57 Dodge Viper Competition Coupe, which he competes with in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship and the Canadian Automobile Sports Clubs (CASC). The esteemed ‘Darth Viper’ driver will make his SPEED World Challenge debut with Woodhouse Performance in the series’ next race in Toronto.

“If I’m going to compete in the SPEED World Challenge series, having the right car is one thing, but having the right team is just as important, perhaps more important,” Majors said. “Woodhouse Performance is a professional team, they have been doing this for a number of years and have had great results. I’m looking forward to making my first SPEED World Challenge series start with the Woodhouse Performance team.”

Majors has been a competitive racer in Canada for almost 10 years, beginning his journey into the sports car racing world with an Eagle Talon in the CASC in 2000. Majors won the 2006 CASC GT-1 Championship and has accumulated 20 podium finishes in 27 GT-1 races. He continues to compete in the CASC GT-1 category with his self-proclaimed dream car – the Dodge Viper Competition Coupe – having won  four of the first six GT-1 races with it this season. He currently leads the division’s championship points standings.

Majors’ competition in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship has resulted in two wins this season with co-driver Tony McGrath in the same black Competition Coupe he pilots in the CASC GT-1 Series. The Touring Car championship, which races 16 times per year at four different tracks across Ontario and Quebec, will be a part of the Grand Prix of Toronto weekend.

Majors will pull double duty in Toronto, continuing driving duties in the Canadian Touring Car Championship while also piloting the No. 13 Dodge Viper Competition Coupe for Woodhouse Performance in the SPEED GT Series.

The talented Canadian is the next to be added to a prestigious list of drivers who have piloted the No. 13 previously this season. Six-year World Challenge veteran and four-time SPEED Touring Car winner Jeff Altenburg was behind the wheel at Watkins Glen International, while NASCAR superstar Kasey Kahne drove the No. 13-turned-No. 9 car to a sixth place finish in Round Four at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Team Owner Bob Woodhouse finished eighth one race earlier at Miller Motorsports Park, while Woodhouse Performance’s 2006 Touring Car series driver and three-time One Lap of America champion Brian Smith filled the seat for the first two races of the season at Sebring and Long Beach.
