BLAIR, Neb. (Aug. 17, 2007) - Woodhouse Performance announced today their expansion to a three car team for the remainder of the SPEED World Challenge Season. With the addition of the No. 6 RSIG Security Dodge Viper Competition Coupe of Jeffrey Robbins, Woodhouse Performance goes from a two-car Viper organization to three, growing their team and crew for the second time this year.

“The three car team came as a reaction to a change in direction recently by Autohaus, one of our associate Viper Competition Coupe teams that chose a different direction,” Woodhouse said. “Jeffrey [Robbins] our new driver was someone we knew and he is a great guy to work with.

“We will work with Jeffrey [Robbins] as aggressively as we do with our other drivers and by year end we will know what direction we have for 2008,” Woodhouse continued. “Although it was an unexpected increase in cars, we have no concern for our existing team since we will have two of the crew that Jeffrey [Robbins] is used to working with.”

Robbins, of Southfield, MI., is currently second in the World Challenge GT Piloti Rookie of the Year standings, just two points behind Dane Moxlow. Robbins said his chance at a Rookie of the Year title, along with Dodge’s strong encouragement, was what fueled him to continue the season after being informed of Autohaus’ Motorsports decision to cease to compete in World Challenge.

“At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to continue racing,” Robbins said. ”But then I started to look at things, and knowing I am in the Rookie of the Year battle, that was a strong reason in my mind to continue. Gary [Johnson, Dodge Motorsports Road Racing Manager] strongly encouraged me to continue as well. I took some time to think about it, and finally decided to run hard for the Rookie title. I talked to Bob [Woodhouse] about running with his team. He is a class act, he works hard and wants to do the right thing for Dodge. I knew that I couldn’t go wrong with his team.”

Robbins says that  he completely understands and supports the Autohaus’ decision and appreciates the time, knowledge and understanding gained while associated with them.

“One of the main reasons I wanted to run with Autohaus was Tommy [Archer],” Robbins continued. “Tommy [Archer] has so much experience and I knew I could learn a lot from him. He and everyone on the Autohaus team were very helpful and I learned an incredible amount from them during my time there. I will miss working with them, but am thankful for the opportunity with Woodhouse. Woodhouse Performance is a great team with years of expertise on Vipers so I know they will do an excellent job preparing the No. 6 RSIG Security Comp. Coupe for competition for the rest of GT the season.”

Robbins will bring his crew, Al Beccera and Ted May, with him to Woodhouse to continue to wrench on his car while under the leadership and guidance of Woodhouse Performance’s team director Rick Maxwell.

Woodhouse Performance and the SPEED World Challenge series heads to Mosport International Raceway for Round Eight of competition, where Robbins will join the Woodhouse Performance drivers Jeff Courtney and Nick Majors in Round Eight of the GT season.
